If you do not have a sound card in your computer, you can still hear voices if you install Microsoft's speaker driver. Although the sound quality is poor, it's better than not hearing anything at all.
First, download the following file: Speaker.zip, Midi.zip.
Now decompress the file with WinZIP or a similar utility.
Go to Control Panel, double click on the Add New Hardware icon, click on the Next button. To the question, "Do you want Windows to search for your new hardware?", choose the No option, then click the Next button. A list of hardware types will be displayed. Click on the Sound, video, and game controllers and click the Next button. You will then be shown a list of hardware manufacturers on the left and products on the right. Do not choose a manufacturer or product. Instead, click the Have Disk button. In the Install from Disk window, specify the temporary directory where the uncompressed speaker driver files are located, or browse to that directory. The filename OEMSETUP.INF should be displayed. Click the OK button. You should get a window with the title, "Select Device", and the name "Wave Driver for PC Speaker". Click OK and the driver will be installed.
